“She promised him ten days together in paradise. He never dreamed how far he'd have to go.”

It is school break, and Dan Bartlett (John Cusack) is supposed to be on a plane to the Caribbean with his girlfriend Lori (Wendy Gazelle) and her wealthy family. He misses the flight, so he books a seat alone and sets out to catch up, with Robert Loggia as 'Mac' MacClaren among the people he meets along the way. Steven Lisberger sends him after the Cronenbergs with a vacation, and his place in the family's good graces, hanging on whether he can reach them.
