Hothead

François Perrin (Patrick Dewaere), a sour young footballer in a small French town, scores the goal that wins the team's most important game of the year. Suddenly everyone knows his name, and he decides to use the glory to settle accounts with the team's star striker, who has spent years mocking him. Jean-Jacques Annaud follows Perrin through the grain and gray of the late 1970s, his face still pinched and sullen under the cheering.
