House of 1000 Corpses

Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) runs a roadside gas station and chicken stand in Texas, where he sells tickets to a small museum of murderers and monsters. Two young couples chasing urban legends of serial killers stop in for directions, and he points them down a back road toward a local legend. Rob Zombie, in his directorial debut, fills the Halloween 1977 setting with grime, loud color and a wail of cheap carnival noise.
