House of D

(2004)Directed by David Duchovny97 min · PG-13Comedy, Drama
“See the world a little differently.”

Tommy (Anton Yelchin) is thirteen in New York in 1973, and what he wants most is to run around with Pappass (Robin Williams), a mentally disabled man who has become his closest friend. His mother, Mrs. Warshaw (Téa Leoni), is sunk in depression since his father died. David Duchovny frames it as a memory of grown-up Tom Warshaw, and the friendship strains when a schoolmate named Melissa catches Tommy's eye and Pappass begins to feel left behind.
