House of Strangers
“A powerhouse of emotion.”
Gino Monetti (Edward G. Robinson), a ruthless Italian-American banker, is arrested for his shady business practices, and three of his four grown sons refuse to help keep him out of prison. Those three take over the bank and push their father out, while Max (Richard Conte), the lawyer, stays loyal. Joseph L. Mankiewicz sets Max between a family that wants him gone and a father who may drag him down, with Irene Bennett (Susan Hayward) caught in the middle.
