Housesitter

“She's turning his house into a home...hers!”

Gwen Phillips (Goldie Hawn), a con artist, moves into an empty house that belongs to Newton Davis (Steve Martin) and starts furnishing it, telling anyone who asks that she is his new wife. Newton is a reserved architect, and Frank Oz sets the lie loose in a small town where his parents, Edna (Julie Harris) and George (Donald Moffat), are only too glad to believe it. It is a story about how a made-up life can start to feel more real than the true one.
