How Stella Got Her Groove Back

“Sometimes you have to break the rules to free your heart.”

Stella Payne (Angela Bassett) has spent so long building her career and raising her son that she has forgotten what it is to relax. Her friend Delilah (Whoopi Goldberg) talks her into a vacation in Jamaica, where Kevin Rodney Sullivan sets her in the warm sun and meets her with Winston Shakespeare (Taye Diggs), a man twenty years younger. Between the two of them is an attraction that Stella keeps trying to talk herself out of.
