“Rule #1: There are no rules.”

Halley Martin (Mandy Moore) is a teenager whose family is coming apart at the edges. Her mother Lydia (Allison Janney) is divorcing her father, who has a younger girlfriend Halley can't stand, and her sister is about to marry the wrong man. Clare Kilner follows her through all of it, as she stays alone with her doubts about love until she meets Macon (Trent Ford).
