Howl's Moving Castle

(2004)Directed by Hayao Miyazaki119 min · PGFantasy, Animation, Adventure
“A magician, a witch, a castle that has life. A fantastic journey into the world of imagination.”

A witch walks into Sophie's hat shop and curses the young milliner (Chieko Baisho) into an old woman's body. Sophie leaves home and takes shelter with Howl (Takuya Kimura), a wizard who refuses to fight for the king while a war with a neighboring kingdom closes in. Miyazaki fills the kingdom with early 20th-century machinery and magic, and Howl's castle crosses it on its own legs.
