Hud

(1963)Directed by Martin Ritt112 minDrama, Western
“The man with the barbed-wire soul.”

Hud Bannon (Paul Newman) is a ruthless young man on his father's ranch who takes what he wants and does not much care who pays for it. His father Homer (Melvyn Douglas) is a stern, principled rancher, and his nephew Lon (Brandon De Wilde) still looks up to him. Martin Ritt puts three generations under one roof, and what Hud has taken so far is about to cost the family.
