“The Film that Begs to Differ”

Joe Kirby (Harry Fowler) is a London street kid who reads a boys' comic every week and notices that the story's wording seems to line up with a string of real robberies. Nobody believes him, so Joe gathers the boys from his neighborhood and sets out to prove it. Charles Crichton sends them running through the rubble of the postwar city, and Joe keeps pushing, sure that a comic strip has become a criminal's instructions and that he is the only one reading it right.
