Human Lanterns

Two rival kung fu masters, Tan Fu (Chen Kuan-tai) and Chao Chun Fang (Lo Lieh), find themselves played against each other by Master Lung Shu Ai (Tony Liu Tian-jue), a craftsman who makes lanterns for a living. The lanterns he designs are built from a disturbing source, and his obsession with finishing them pulls both fighters closer. Sun Chung stages the combat and the workshop scenes with the same slow, close attention.
