“The President. The First Lady. The King. The Queen. The Mother. The Mistress...One weekend would unite two great nations...After cocktails of course.”

Daisy (Laura Linney) is summoned to the Roosevelt family estate upstate and finds that her distant cousin, President Franklin Roosevelt (Bill Murray), wants her company more than he lets on. Roger Michell sets the story over the 1939 weekend when the King (Samuel West) and Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) come to visit. Daisy's private journals carry the whole affair, and what they keep returning to is how much she wants from a man who belongs to everyone.
