J'accuse
In 1918, a love triangle plays out in a French village while the First World War presses closer. Jean Diaz (Romuald Joubé) and François Laurin (Séverin-Mars) end up in the same trenches, one of them married to the woman the other loves. Abel Gance took cameras onto real battlefields, and the film holds the two men there, in the mud and the shellfire.
