J'Accuse

Jean Diaz (Victor Francen) came home from the trenches of the Great War unable to bear love or comfort, and he has put every hour since into scientific research, hoping to build a machine that makes war impossible. Abel Gance made this sound-era remake of his own 1919 film, and Europe in its story is already sliding toward another war. Diaz keeps working in his laboratory, a man who gave up everything personal and now has only the invention left.
