I Am Frankelda

“What you imagine has long been imagining you.”

Francisca Imelda (Mireya Mendoza) is a young writer in post-colonial 19th-century Mexico, trying to make a life out of stories nobody around her will take seriously. A prince who needs her help to save his kingdom comes to her, and she follows him into her own subconscious. Arturo and Roy Ambriz, working in stop motion, set Francisca face to face with the spooky characters she wrote, and she has to decide how far she'll go for the people who need her.
