Lily (Ruth Wilson), a young hospice nurse, takes a live-in job caring for Iris Blum (Paula Prentiss), an elderly horror novelist whose mind is slipping. Lily wants a quiet job and a quiet house, but the house won't oblige her. Osgood Perkins tells it in low whispers and long silences, and the dread settles in the same way a chill does, one room at a time.
