Daïga (Yekaterina Golubeva), a Lithuanian actress newly arrived in Paris, wants a life in the city and finds herself drawn to the world of Camille (Richard Courcet), a beautiful drag performer. Claire Denis moves between Daïga's job as a hotel clerk and the lives of the people around her, and the film is loosely inspired by the murders committed by Thierry Paulin. The fascination between Daïga and Camille grows, though neither of them can say what it is.
