I Capture the Castle

(2003)Directed by Tim Fywell113 min · RDrama, Romance
“You can't choose who you fall in love with”

Cassandra Mortmain (Romola Garai) is seventeen and fills her journal with sharp, funny pages about her family's life in a crumbling English castle in the 1930s. Her sister Rose (Rose Byrne), her stepmother Topaz (Tara Fitzgerald) and her father James (Bill Nighy) make up a household too eccentric and too poor to stay afloat. Tim Fywell's film is about growing up and finding that what you wanted and what you get are rarely the same thing.
