I Confess

“If you knew what he knew what would you do?”

Father Michael Logan (Montgomery Clift) is a priest who hears a murderer's confession and is bound by his vow never to repeat it. Circumstantial evidence begins to point at Logan himself, and Inspector Larrue (Karl Malden) starts asking questions that a man sworn to silence cannot answer. Alfred Hitchcock keeps Clift's face fixed and still, a priest in his black cassock with the whole weight of the secret held behind his eyes.
