I Like It Like That

“For Lisette, everyday has become independence day.”

Lisette Linares (Lauren Vélez) wants a life that belongs to her, and it gets harder to reach when her husband Chino (Jon Seda) is arrested for looting. She is left in the South Bronx with three kids, a critical mother-in-law, a transgender sibling, and a block full of neighborhood eccentrics. Darnell Martin's debut keeps the marriage at its center, two people who fight and tease and plainly still want each other.
