“Popularity is nice. Popular girls are not.”

On graduation night, high-school valedictorian Denis Cooverman (Paul Rust) uses his speech to tell cheerleader Beth Cooper (Hayden Panettiere) that he loves her. Chris Columbus follows what that confession sets off, a long night with Beth, her friends Cammy (Lauren London) and Treece (Lauren Storm), and Denis's pal Rich Munsch (Jack Carpenter) in tow. Denis stands in the aftermath, still in his graduation gown, holding the speech he never expected to finish.
