Del Spooner (Will Smith) is a Chicago cop in 2035 who distrusts the robots that now carry the groceries and walk the dogs. When Dr. Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell) is found dead, apparently by his own hand, Spooner suspects a machine, and Susan Calvin (Bridget Moynahan) is the one who has to answer him. Alex Proyas fills the city with identical robots in white and gray, rows of faces that look the same from every angle.
