I Walked with a Zombie

“She's alive…yet dead! She's dead…yet alive!”

The woman in the upstairs room of a Caribbean sugar plantation walks and breathes but does not speak or know anyone. Betsy Connell (Frances Dee), a Canadian nurse, takes the post of caring for her, and the plantation owner, Paul Holland (Tom Conway), is the husband she begins to love. Jacques Tourneur sets Betsy against the island's Vodou rites, and the only cure left to her may cost more than she can afford.
