I Was a Male War Bride

A French captain and an American lieutenant marry in post-war Germany, and then discover the paperwork was built for a very different kind of couple. Henri Rochard (Cary Grant) wants only to follow his wife home under the War Bride Act, while Lt. Catherine Gates (Ann Sheridan) can do little but watch the regulations multiply. Howard Hawks keeps the two of them arguing across the whole film, and each argument shows how much they like being on the same side of it.
