Ichi the Killer

“Love really hurts.”

In the underworld of Shinjuku, the yakuza boss has vanished, and his enforcer Kakihara (Tadanobu Asano), a sadomasochist who treats pain as the only thing worth feeling, goes looking for him. The trail leads him to Ichi (Nao Omori), a timid, repressed man who turns violent without warning, and Takashi Miike films both of them without looking away. Kakihara wants a pain that finally reaches him, and the pain he can inflict on others is the only kind he has found.
