Igby Goes Down

“Insanity is relative.”

Igby (Kieran Culkin), seventeen and sarcastic, walks out on the schools and the money he was raised in, convinced there is a better life somewhere past his family's reach. Burr Steers sets him against a father who is unwell, a mother (Susan Sarandon) who keeps her distance, and an older brother who treats the world like a deal to close. Igby runs on a drifter's nerve, his school blazer rumpled, the Slocumb name trailing behind him.
