Il bell'Antonio

“...the frank story of a marital challenge”

Nobody in Catania can say why Antonio Magnano (Marcello Mastroianni), the handsome son the whole town admires, has not made a wife of Barbara Puglisi (Claudia Cardinale) after a year of marriage. Mauro Bolognini lets the question leak out through relatives, neighbors and Antonio's father Alfio (Pierre Brasseur), until it is no longer a private matter. Antonio still loves his wife, and he has to carry a rumor that everyone he knows believes.
