“From the ultimate crime of power comes the ultimate act of revenge.”

News reaches Will Graham (Clive Owen), a former London crime boss now living alone as a recluse in a forest, that his brother Davey (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has killed himself after a sexual assault by a volatile car dealer. Will goes back to the city he left to find out who is responsible. Mike Hodges, who made Get Carter, sends him through old rooms and old faces, a man who gave up violence and now has to pick it up again.
