Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS

“The most dreaded Nazi of them all!”

The camp is a Nazi labor and death camp in the last days of the war, run by the commandant Ilsa (Dyanne Thorne), loosely modeled on the real Buchenwald overseer Ilse Koch. Ilsa is conducting experiments on the prisoners to prove that women can endure more pain than men, and so deserve a place on the front lines. Don Edmonds, working on a Canadian budget, shoots it in grainy, low-lit 1970s stock, and Thorne stands in the middle of every frame.
