Immortal Love

In 1961 Japan, Sadako (Hideko Takamine) is pushed into marriage with Heibei (Tatsuya Nakadai) while she still loves Takashi (Keiji Sada). Keisuke Kinoshita follows the household across three decades, as the bitterness between husband and wife reaches their children and everyone around them. Sadako lives inside that marriage year after year, holding onto the man she was never allowed to choose.
