Import/Export

Olga (Ekateryna Rak), a nurse in Ukraine, wants work that pays enough to live on, and she sets out for the West to find it. Pauli (Paul Hofmann), an unemployed security guard in Austria, heads east for the same reason, and Ulrich Seidl follows them across Vienna, Ukraine, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, shot on 16mm. Each of them is leaving a country that has no work for them, and neither can say what they will find at the other end.
