“Watch your mouth.”

In nineteenth-century Japan, the American journalist Christopher (Billy Drago) travels through the countryside searching for the prostitute he fell in love with and left behind. A woman (Youki Kudoh) in a brothel tells him what happened to her after he was gone, and Takashi Miike keeps the story close to her voice. Christopher came looking for one person, and the woman across from him knows exactly what became of her.
