In Dubious Battle

Jim Nolan (Nat Wolff) is a young drifter who wants to belong to a cause, and he finds one in California's apple country, among 900 migratory workers. Mac McLeod (James Franco) teaches him how to organize them against the landowners, and James Franco directs the strike as it grows into a crowd stronger and more frightening than any one of the men in it. Jim's idealism holds the whole effort together, and it pulls him further from everyone around him.
