In Her Hands

Mathieu Malinski (Jules Benchetrit) is a young man from a modest family who plays piano in public, the kind of talent most people walk past without a second look. Pierre Geithner (Lambert Wilson) hears it and offers him a place at the Conservatoire, where the Countess (Kristin Scott Thomas) will oversee his training. Ludovic Bernard keeps the camera close on Mathieu's hands and face, so the effort of the playing is always in view.
