In Her Place

Mercedes (Elisa Zulueta) is a housekeeper at the Crillón Hotel in 1950s Santiago, caught between her own small life and the world of the guests who pass through. She becomes entangled with María Carolina Geel (Francisca Lewin), a writer of means whose affair with a man ends in violence one night in the hotel. Alberdi reconstructs the crime and its aftermath through the eyes of those who witnessed nothing but were forced to account for everything.
