In Love and War

“In war they found each other...In each other they found love...”

Nobody at the hospital can say why a nineteen-year-old ambulance driver, shrapnel still in his leg, sits up in bed looking at the nurse Agnes von Kurowsky (Sandra Bullock) like a man who has already made up his mind. Richard Attenborough follows Ernest Hemingway (Chris O'Donnell) through his recovery in the last years of the First World War. Ernest is young and badly wounded, and he asks a woman older than him to cross the ocean as his wife.
