In Old Chicago

(1938)Directed by Henry King111 minDrama, History
“The Great American Motion Picture!”

The question is how two sons of the same widowed mother, Molly O'Leary (Alice Brady), end up running opposite sides of Chicago in the years before the Great Fire of 1871. Henry King follows roguish Dion (Tyrone Power) and honest Jack (Don Ameche) as each one rises, with singer Belle Fawcett (Alice Faye) caught between the brothers' ambitions. Under the money and the politics, this is a story about family, and how loyalty can wear thin when power gets involved.
