In the Electric Mist

“NO ONE CAN ESCAPE THE SINS OF THE PAST”

Dave Robicheaux (Tommy Lee Jones), a detective in New Iberia, Louisiana, is trying to tie a murdered local prostitute to the New Orleans mobster Julie "Baby Feet" Balboni (John Goodman). Then Elrod Sykes (Peter Sarsgaard), the star of a Civil War picture shooting nearby, reports a corpse in the Atchafalaya Swamp. Bertrand Tavernier's film keeps asking whether a crime stays buried just because nobody will talk about it.
