In the Gloaming

Danny (Robert Sean Leonard), dying of AIDS, comes home to his parents' house for his last months. His mother Janet (Glenn Close) is the one he has always been closest to, and the two of them talk with an openness that leaves his father Martin (David Strathairn) and his sister Anne (Bridget Fonda) standing outside it. In his directing debut, Christopher Reeve watches the family, and the distance between Danny's mother and the others is where the film settles.
