“Get ready to fall”

Carter Webb (Adam Brody) is a heartbroken screenwriter who leaves behind a bad breakup to look after his ailing grandmother Phyllis (Olympia Dukakis) in Michigan. Across the street live Sarah (Meg Ryan) and her daughters, including teenage Lucy (Kristen Stewart), and Jon Kasdan has Carter drift into their lives. The longer he stays, the more he has to lose: a family not his own, and the one person he came to look after.
