“The fate of the world is on the line.”

It starts with a throwaway remark on a radio show: Simon Foster (Tom Hollander), a minor British minister, calls war "unforeseeable," and the line spreads until two governments want to know what he meant. Armando Iannucci fills the offices with aides and generals, and Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) swears at all of them. A war is being planned on both sides of the Atlantic, and the people who could stop it are busy protecting their own jobs.
