In the Mouth of Madness

“Do you read Sutter Cane?”

John Trent (Sam Neill) is an insurance investigator who makes his living proving other people are lying, and he takes the case of a missing horror novelist as one more fraud to expose. Sutter Cane (Jürgen Prochnow) has vanished with his latest manuscript, and Trent sets out with the editor Linda Styles (Julie Carmen). John Carpenter follows them toward the small town where the books are set, and the longer Trent looks, the less he can say what is real.
