In the Shadow of Women

Pierre (Stanislas Merhar) wants two women, and he wants neither of them to know it. Manon (Clotilde Courau) lives with him and helps make the documentaries he shoots on almost no money, while Elisabeth (Léna Paugam), a young intern, becomes his mistress. Philippe Garrel sets the affair beside the couple's odd jobs and thin budget, and the marriage that pays for his double life is the one he keeps risking.
