Veerasekaran Senapathy (Kamal Haasan), an aging freedom fighter, sees bribes demanded at every desk in the bureaucracy, and he starts hunting the officials who take them. His son Chandra Bose (also Kamal Haasan) lives off that same corruption, which puts the family on a collision course. Shankar builds the chase around the old man's anger, a fury he refuses to put down at any cost.
