Indian Horse

“You have the gift. You have the vision.”

In 1970s Canada, Saul Indian Horse is taken from his Ojibwe family as a boy and sent to a residential school run by the church. Stephen S. Campanelli follows him through three ages (Sladen Peltier, Forrest Goodluck, Ajuawak Kapashesit), as Father Quinney (Michael Murphy) governs the school and hockey gives Saul a talent to hold onto. The film shows what it costs to be good at a game in a country that treats him as less than the people watching.
