Truman Capote (Toby Jones) is the most talked-about wit in New York, a small, high-voiced man who holds a room with his stories. When he reads of a murdered family in Kansas, he travels there with his friend Nelle Harper Lee (Sandra Bullock) to write about it. Douglas McGrath follows him into the cells of Dick Hickock and Perry Smith (Daniel Craig), where the writer's charm and his need for the book begin to pull against each other.
