“Find out what kind of creature you really are.”

A drive outside the resort gates ends in a fatal accident, and James Foster (Alexander Skarsgård), a struggling novelist on holiday in Li Tolqa with his wife Em (Cleopatra Coleman), learns the country executes its criminals. A wealthy visitor can pay to have a copy made and watch it die in his place, an offer that Gabi (Mia Goth) has already taken. Brandon Cronenberg films the island's sun-bleached luxury and its cruelty in the same flat, bright light.
