Initiation Love

Suzuki (Shota Matsuda), a university student in Shizuoka in the late 1980s, wants a job and a girlfriend, and a blind date gives him the second first. Mayu (Atsuko Maeda), a dental hygienist, starts seeing him, until his job hunt lands him in Tokyo and the two are left with a long-distance relationship. Yukihiko Tsutsumi tells it as a love story from a time when distance meant waiting for phone calls.
