Inn of Evil

Sadashichi (Tatsuya Nakadai) is a young man who turns up at a remote inn in feudal Japan carrying stolen money, determined to buy back the woman he loves from the brothel where she is made to work. The inn is a base for smugglers, in an era when any trade with the outside world is forbidden. Masaki Kobayashi follows him among these rough men, where he has the money and the purpose but nothing else to lean on.
